It’s about time! We’ve been shaking off Pizza DTs since the beginning of summer. You never appreciate these Jersey creeps when they’re around, but when they leave your life, the party is usually quick to follow.

Now Personal & the Pizzas are back with chains in tow to thaw out the punks and if these latest A- and B-sides don’t transform a few high school students into aspiring gas pump lifers there’s something seriously amuck in the world. The Pizzas’ talents are needed at Zuccotti Park stat, just like actual cheese pizzas, and if that requires us to take Third Eye Blind out, so be it; the resulting show would incite a riot capable of solving the Wall Street debacle in twenty bloody minutes flat.

The title track here is all power, channeling the fastest scream-a-long cretin punk since The Stitches. “Brain Damage” couldn’t get any better unless its guitar bridges were magnified with a bad sax. And Joey Ramone couldn’t pen a better pop manifesto to heartfelt dejection than “Bored Out of My Brains.” This B-side also happens to be the standout track, defining the doldrums of this godforsaken era to a tee. We’d tell you to do yourself a solid and pick this up, but there’s a seven-in-ten chance we’re preaching to the choir, or to a hungry Google searcher, so we’ll save our garlic breath. —SWAMI VISIONS
